Description
Malthouse Farm House and Malthouse Flat is a house and former malthouse dating from the 17th century, with a rear extension added in the 19th century. The building features timber framing on the right side, with exposed sections in the center and brick infilling. The ground floor on the left is made of sandstone rubble with brick dressings, while the right side is constructed from red and brown brick, and the first floor on the left and center is tile hung. The roofs are plain tiled. The structure has two storeys above a basement, which is accessible at the rear where the ground level drops. There is a front stack located to the right of the center and a rear ridge stack to the right. The building has three casement windows on the first floor and one window on the ground floor. To the left, there is a small door set in a brick-dressed surround, and to the right, a part-glazed door with a flanking small window. A central alley entrance leads down steps to the 19th-century wing at the rear. The windows feature glazing bar sash fenestration.
