Description
Numbers 2 and 3 Cottages, located to the southwest of Cricket Green, are houses that have been extended and divided. They date from the 17th century, with extensions added in the 18th and 20th centuries. The cottages feature a timber frame at the center, with a rendered plinth, brick infill below, and whitewashed rendered infill above. The ends have blue and red brick extensions, which were once colorwashed, all under a plain-tiled roof that is half-hipped to the right.
The buildings are two storeys high, with three framed bays in the middle that form an end chimney house, and a one-bay extension at each end. There is an end stack to the left and a ridge stack to the left of center, along with a further corbelled rear stack to the right of center. The first floor has four windows, while the ground floor has three windows, with the leftmost window featuring a cambered head. A plank door is located to the left in a gabled open porch for Number 2, and a door to the right is found in a gabled porch on brick plinth walls for Number 3. There is a wing at the rear.
