Description

Philpots is a cottage dating to the 17th century, with a 20th-century extension to the left. The original section has a timber frame, with the lower part clad in whitewashed and brown brick and the upper part tile hung, using alternating rows of diamond point and club pattern tiles. The roof is tiled. The cottage is two storeys high, with a single-storey extension. A prominent off-centre end stack is located to the right, featuring a fine bread oven to the rear and a corbelled top. There are two framed bays containing two casement windows on the first floor and three windows on the ground floor. There is a half-glazed door to the left, with a flanking light in the extension. A catslide roof slopes to the rear right, and a brick wing extends to the rear left, at a right angle to the front.
