Description
Old Barn Cottage is a late 16th-century cottage located in Witley. It features a timber frame with whitewashed brick underbuilding on the right and a combination of rubble and brick on the left. The frame is exposed above, with whitewashed brick and render infill. The roof is restored and covered with plain tiles, with the left half machine tiled, hipped at the left end, and extending in a pentice over an extension to the left. The cottage has two storeys and consists of three framed bays, with heavy bracing visible on the first floor. There is a crow-stepped stack at the right end and a 20th-century stack on the left. The first floor has two three-light and one single-light diamond-pane casements, while the ground floor features four windows. A ribbed door is positioned to the right of centre, set within an open gabled porch supported by wooden posts and brick pedestals. At the rear, there is a pentice outshot.
