Description
Sun Cottages, formerly known as The Sun Inn, is a former inn that has been converted into cottages. It dates back to the 17th century and was extended to the right in the late 18th or 19th century. The building features a timber frame on the center and left sides, resting on a brick plinth, with some sections of the frame exposed above. The infill is made of whitewashed brick and render. The right extension is also constructed of whitewashed brick. The roof is plain tiled, half-hipped to the right, with an oversailing gable to the left. The structure has two storeys, with an end stack on the left and a large ridge stack to the right of the center. There are three casement windows on the first floor, all of which are from the 20th century, and four ground floor windows, one of which on the right has a cambered head. The door for No. 1 is half-glazed and set in a projecting, moulded surround to the right, while there is an additional door on the left-hand return front for No. 2. A wing extends to the rear.
