Description

Lashams is a mid-18th century house with 20th-century extensions to the left. It is constructed of red and blue brick laid in a chequerboard pattern, with red brick angle quoins and dressings. The right-hand return front is tile-hung. The roof is hipped and covered in plain tiles, with a stepped profile over the recessed extensions.

The main house is two storeys high, with a gauged brick band above the ground floor and a moulded wooden eaves cornice. It has three bays, with large ridge stacks to the rear right and left, and a further stack on the right-hand return front. The outer bays each contain a twelve-pane, glazing bar sash window on each floor. The centre window on the first floor is blocked with blue headers. A hip-roofed, square bay with a leaded casement window replaced the original ground floor window to the right. A half-glazed door is positioned to the left, at the junction with the brick-faced (matching the main house) 20th-century extensions, sheltered by a flat hood supported on floral-decorated brackets. The extensions have leaded fenestration, with two “cross” windows on the first floor and a cambered head window on the ground floor to the right.
