Description
The White Hart Hotel is a hall house that has been converted into a public house. It dates back to the 15th century, with alterations from the 17th century and a front left extension added in the early 20th century. The building features a timber frame that is clad in whitewashed brick at the bottom and has fishscale tile hanging above. It has a steeply pitched, hipped roof that is plain-tiled and includes end gablets.
On the left side, there is a wing with brick at the bottom and imitation framing above, which is filled with roughcast. The roof of this wing is machine tiled. The structure is two storeys high and consists of four framed bays, with a stack inserted to the right of the centre. There is a blocked window on the first floor to the right of the centre, and under-eaves casement windows at both ends, with the right window featuring a gable above it. To the left of centre, there is a gabled dormer with leaded casement windows.
The ground floor has three 3-light leaded windows, a blocked door to the right of centre, a plank door to the right under a pentice hood supported by braces, and a half-glazed door to the left under a larger pentice hood also on braces. The extensions to the left are set back and feature star-shaped stacks at the junction with the main house, as well as continuous leaded windows on both the first and ground floors. The gable end facing the street is tile-hung and has a crowstepped plinth leading to diagonal stacks. Inside, some of the framing is exposed.
