Description
75 West Street is a building with a 19th-century front that conceals a 17th-century timber-framed core. The timber framing is visible in the northeast gable end. The street-facing side has two storeys and two window bays. It features an old tiled roof with a half hip on the left side and a taller stack on the right. The front is rendered with incised lines, a moulded projecting plinth, and a band at the first-floor sill level. The windows have segmental heads and no glazing bars. The left-hand ground floor window has a moulded frame and a keystone. To the right, there is a shop window that is four lights wide and two tiers deep, also in a moulded frame, with a doorway to the left that has a moulded architrave and a vermiculated keystone. The roof has a pentice behind it and over small outshots. This building is listed as Grade II due to its earlier core. Nos 75 to 94, including Nos 86A and 88A, form a group.
