Description
The stable block to the south-east of Sandford House is an 18th-century building. It features a one-storey wing on the left side and a later one-storey and attic wing with a pediment on the right side. The structure is made of red brick, with the left part consisting of three bays. It has a projecting plinth and a blind panel in the leftmost bay that projects forward. The windows in the two bays to the right are three panes wide, and there is a square-headed doorway. The building has a capped parapet. The right-hand wing, which has a moulded pediment and cornice, projects slightly forward and includes a circular clock face set behind a rubbed brick voussoir in the tympanum. There are two semi-circular lunettes on the ground floor, a round-headed doorway with a rubbed brick voussoir featuring a keystone and impost, a semi-circular fanlight, and a central six-panel door. The building also has a projecting plinth, and the north-west wall is open.
