Description
13 George Street is a building that dates from the 16th, 17th, and 19th centuries. It is two storeys high and has three windows. The east side features a late-medieval timber frame with two bays positioned at right angles to the road, and it has a rear half-hipped gable. The front gable is now incorporated into a hipped roof. The west side is timber-framed from a later period. The building has a large tiled roof and a rendered front wall, with some timber framing exposed at the rear and north sides, which includes painted brick infilling and a plinth. The windows are Victorian sashes set in reveals, with one modern bow window on the ground floor. The entrance features a six-flush panelled door in a solid frame, topped by a thin canopy supported on brackets. Inside, the massive framework is exposed.
