Description

No. 18 George Street is a building that dates from the 17th, 18th, and 20th centuries. It features a timber-framed structure with a later brick front that is taller than the original frame. The building has a tiled roof and brick dentil eaves, supported by wrought-iron gutter brackets. The east gable reveals the exposed frame, which is filled with painted brickwork and shows where the front wall attaches, featuring a higher eaves. The front wall is made of painted brickwork in Flemish bond, with rubbed flat arches. The east side includes 19th-century sash windows in exposed frames, and the double-fronted shop has a deep modern fascia board.
