Description

Gainsborough Cottage is a late 18th century building located on Upper Church Lane. It is two stories high, constructed of painted brick on a rendered projecting plinth, and features brick dentil eaves and an old tiled roof. The cottage has one window and a modern arched entrance with a modern wrought iron gate on the right side. Above this entrance, there is one window in the right-hand gabled end. Gainsborough Cottage is part of a group that includes Nos. 1 to 4 (consecutive) and No. 22 Dowing Street.
