Description

The front garden wall to The Rectory dates from the 18th to 19th centuries, with later additions. It is a high wall constructed of brick with a brick coping, extending from the eastern entrance to the Church south-westwards along Upper Church Lane as far as the entrance to the Church of England Schools. The wall is patched in places, with some clunch visible in the lower part. A 19th-century semi-circular arched overthrow is positioned above the left-hand entrance, before the steps leading to the front door. This feature supports a tall rectangular lamp bracket topped with a quadrangular lamp and cresting. A ledged door is also present. The wall is part of a group of listed buildings along Upper Church Lane.
