Description
This is a 17th-century barn located 40 metres to the west of Rye Farm House in Cranleigh. It is timber framed and sits on a plinth made of sandstone rubble, with weatherboard cladding and a plain tiled roof that has a half-hipped design, extending into a catslide over the front pentice aisle. The barn features double doors positioned to the right of centre and a loft door to the left, along with three doors leading to the front aisle on the right side. Inside, the barn consists of five framed bays with a clasped purlin and Queen-strut roof, and there are some windbraces present in the roof structure. Two of the bays on the left are floored, and there is a pentice extension on the right.
