Description

Rye Farm House is a house dating from the 17th century, which was later altered in the 18th and 19th centuries, with a 20th-century extension. It is timber-framed and has brick cladding in red and brown, with plain tiled roofs. The house is two storeys high, with diagonal brick dentilled eaves. There are square brick stacks to the front, on the left and right of the centre. The first floor has two three-light leaded casement windows to the left, and a single three-light cambered head window to the right of centre, positioned above the front door, with a gabled dormer window above. A 16-pane, glazing bar sash window (a 20th-century replacement) is located to the right, and the ground floor has leaded casement windows. A glazed door is situated to the right of the centre, set within a gabled brick porch. A wing extends at a right angle to the rear, featuring a hipped roof and a single-storey extension to the left.
