Description
Spratts is a house that dates back to the 16th century, with an extension from the 18th century on the left and further extensions from the 20th century at the rear. It features a timber frame set on a puddingstone plinth with a brick underbuild, and is adorned with decorative tile hanging above. The roof is hipped and covered with plain tiles, complete with end gablets. The building has two storeys and a central stack at the rear.
On the first floor, there are four leaded casement windows, while the ground floor has four additional windows. There are half-glazed doors located to the left and right of the centre. A pentice is present at the right end, along with a wing at the rear right that includes hip roof dormers. Inside, the ceiling frames are exposed, featuring arched bracing on the first floor. The structure includes jowled posts and some windbracing in the roof. There is also evidence of the original jetty that faced the lane.
