Description
Chapel Place, Little South Cottage and White Wicketts is a row of cottages built in the early 19th century, with later 19th-century additions. The cottages are constructed from red and grey header brick and feature slate roofs. They are two storeys high and have end stacks, with the shafts dividing and then rejoining to create a diamond-shaped opening. There is a central ridge stack and a rear stack.
The front of the building has four 12-pane glazing bar sash windows with shutters located on the right end of both floors. To the left, there is a gabled porch with a moulded gable, and a panelled door that is topped by an elaborate roundel and scroll tracery fanlight, along with diamond tracery margin lights. The door consists of five panels and is set beneath a fine modillioned pediment supported by fluted Doric half-columns. There is an additional door to the right, which is also framed by a pediment and half-column surround. An apron tablet is located at the centre of the eaves, featuring a cornice hood and inscribed with the name "Chapel Place."
