Description
1 and 2 Burdocks is a house that has been extended and divided. It dates from the 17th century, with extensions from the 18th and 19th centuries. The right side of the building is timber framed and clad in ironstone blocks at the ground floor plinth, with red and blue brick above and weatherboarding on the gable end. The left side features additions made of red and blue brick, showing traces of colourwash, and both sides have plain tiled roofs. The building has a T-shaped plan, with the older section on the right positioned at right angles to the street. It is two storeys high, with three windows on the first floor to the left and three windows below, all under cambered heads. There is one three-light window on each floor of the gable end to the right, with a cambered head on the ground floor window. There are stacks at the rear left and right, as well as a corbelled stack at the junction of the two ranges. A 20th-century pentice porch is located to the right, featuring a plank door for No. 2, while a taller pentice roof porch is on the left for No. 1. The right-hand return front has three windows on the first floor.
