Description

This is a house, originally two dwellings, that dates to the late 16th and early 17th centuries, with later additions from around 1880 to 1890. The original part of the house, to the left, is timber framed and faced with galleted Bargate stone to the front, with brick dressings. Some timber framing remains visible at the rear left, with brick infilling. Brick extensions are present to the right, with tile hanging on the first floor. The roof is tiled, with a half-hipped shape over the original range to the left.

The house has a T-shaped plan, with extensions projecting in the gable end to the right. It is two storeys high, featuring an end stack to the left, a corbelled rear stack in the centre, and a 19th-century stack in the angle between the two ranges. Further large, decorated 19th-century stacks are located at the rear right. To the left, there are three three-light windows on the first floor, and three windows below, with the central window below a cambered head. The gable end to the right has a four-light window on each floor – the upper parts of each light are divided into six panes – with the first-floor window protected by a pentice hood. A door is located to the right of the centre of the original range (Spindlebury), with a further door on the return front to the right.
