Description
Railway Cottages is a house that has been divided, originally built in the mid-16th century and later extended to the left in the late 18th century and to the right in the 20th century. The building features a timber frame that is underbuilt in red brick on a rendered plinth, with exposed red and blue brick infilling above. The extension to the right has tile hanging on the first floor, while the left side has a weatherboarded pentice. The roof is hipped and plain tiled, with machine tiles covering the extensions on the right.
The structure is two storeys high with three framed bays, plus one bay extension to the left and another to the right. There is a ridge stack located to the right of the center. The windows are a mix of casement styles, some of which are leaded, with four windows on the first floor and five on the ground floor, including one to the right that is set under a cambered head. A ribbed door is positioned to the left of center, sheltered by an open gabled porch supported by wooden posts. To the right, there is a planked door beneath a gabled wooden porch.
