Description
Church Cottage and Nuthurst is a house that has been divided, originally built in the 17th century with extensions added in the 18th and 20th centuries. It features a timber frame with thin scantling, standing on a rendered plinth. The ground floor has galleted sandstone infill on the center and left sides, while the rest is infilled with brick and the first floor is colourwashed. To the right, there is a red and blue brick extension. The roof is plain tiled, hipped, with a gablet at the right end. The building has two storeys, comprising three framed bays plus a chimney bay and the right extension. There is a ridge stack to the left of center and an end stack to the right. The first floor has four leaded windows, and there are four windows on the ground floor with cambered heads on the right. A door is located to the left of center within a pentice roof porch, and there is another door at the base of the end stack to the right. There are also extensions at the rear.
