Description

Lower House is a house dating from the 17th century. It is timber framed and clad in sandstone rubble, featuring brick dressings and a plain tiled half-hipped roof with tile hung ends. The building has two storeys, with a massive ridge stack located to the left of centre and an end stack on the rear wing. There are three first floor windows, with the outer ones being three-light windows, and three cambered-head windows below them, all arranged in a regular pattern. A door is positioned at the right end, sheltered by a pentice hood supported on braces. There is a plat band on the right-hand return front, and a wing extends at right angles to the rear.
