Description
Burstow Park Farmhouse is a house dating from the 16th century, with a 17th-century parallel range to the west and an east front that was rebuilt in the early 18th century. The rear is timber framed with brick infill and cladding below, and tile hung above, all under plain tiled roofs. The main front faces east and is constructed of brown brick with grey brick headers, featuring a rendered parapet that partially obscures a slate roof with an end stack to the left. The house has two storeys over a basement and attic, with three pedimented casement dormers and plat bands over the ground and first floors. The five-bay front includes glazing bar sash windows in open boxes under gauged heads, while the basement has cambered head windows. A central half-glazed panelled door on the ground floor is framed by raised moulding and a pedimented Doric half-column surround. To the right, there is a single-storey brewhouse over a basement with a hipped plain tiled roof, connected to the house by a gabled linking bay that contains a panelled door under a fanlight. The older wings to the rear (west) feature casement windows. Inside, some framing is visible along with moulded beams and a plain crown post roof.
