Description
Stonehouse Farm House is a house dating from the 17th century, which was restored in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is built of sandstone, with galleting at the rear, and features 19th-century brick refacing on a brick plinth, along with tile-hung gables. The roof is slate and has a double brick stack located to the right of the center. The house has a T-shaped plan and a baffle entry, standing two storeys tall. It has regular casement windows, with four windows across both the first and ground floors, which are set under cambered heads. There is a part-glazed door to the right of the center, sheltered by a gabled hood supported on brackets. A single-storey wing extends to the rear, topped with a plain tiled roof.
Inside, there are surviving timber frame partition walls and beamed ceilings on the first floor. The interior also features a deep brick fireplace and an original spiral staircase.
