Description

Maynards is a house dating from the 16th century that has been restored and extended. It features a timber frame with brick underbuilding and is tile hung above, topped with a plain tiled roof. There is a rendered ridge stack at the left end and a large rendered ridge stack to the right of the center. The house has a lobby entry and is two storeys high, with four 20th-century leaded casement windows on the first floor. The left window is in a gabled extension that has carved bargeboards. To the right of the center, there are double 20th-century half-glazed doors. The right-hand return front displays exposed square panelled framing, which has been restored, and shows Queen-post construction on the gable that encloses a restored wood mullioned window. There is also a two-storey 19th-century wing to the right, which has a pentice roof extension across the ground floor. Inside, the framing is mainly visible on the ceilings.
