Description
Merryworth is a house dating from the early 16th century, which was restored in the 20th century. It features a timber frame with brick cladding on the front and brick infill in the exposed end frames, along with some knapped flint infill on the left-hand return front. The roof is plain tiled, with a lower and half-hipped extension on the right end. The house has two storeys and an attic, with two three-light diamond-pane leaded casement dormers. There is a rebuilt ridge stack located to the right of the centre.
The structure consists of three framed bays, with 20th-century leaded casement windows. There are four windows on the first floor and three on the ground floor, all set under cambered arches. A panelled door is positioned to the right of centre, sheltered by a pentice roof supported by wooden brackets. To the right end, there is a single bay, single storey extension that is set back.
On the left-hand return front, the first floor jetties out on brackets, with the left end bracket featuring carved decoration. The queen-post roof construction is visible, and there is a catslide extension at the rear, along with a parallel service range to the rear left.
