Description
Yew Tree Cottages, located on Lower Newport Road in Aldershot, is a 17th century building that has been converted into three dwellings. The cottages are designed in a vernacular style and feature an irregular block shape with two storeys at three different heights. The roof is tiled, with gables and half hips, and the south gable is adorned with tile hanging. The first floor showcases some exposed timber-framing, both real and false, while the rest of the walls are rendered over brickwork. The windows are mainly casements, with one old sash window present. At the rear, there is an attractive mix of outshots and chimney stacks, which were originally attached to the outside of the frame house. One gable features a simplified Gothic Revival triple window. A modern ground floor extension has been added to the north side.
