Description
Aldershot Lodge is a house dating from 1687, with extensions in the early 20th century. The main east-facing facade is three storeys high, featuring three windows with irregular spacing. The outer windows have wider bays of 1, 3, and 1 lights, containing sliding sashes, with a Venetian style on the ground and first floors. A hipped tile roof has moulded and bracketed eaves, and the walls are of white-painted brickwork. The centrally positioned front door is a six-panelled design, set within an architrave and panelled reveal; brackets support a canopy now formed as a lead hood. A south-east projecting wing, built in the original style, extends from the ground floor.
The rear (west) elevation includes a two-storey attachment from around 1900, with dormers and casement windows. A central brick porch with a hipped roof provides access. Interesting bays flank the entrance, each composed of five segmental units with fluted panels in the upper section.
