Description
The Vicarage is a house built in 1901 by architect Charles Spooner, designed in the Lance Wren style. It has two storeys and an attic. The main front features two large gables that do not project, each with attic windows. There is an off-centre, two-storeyed gabled block that projects, which has arches on the ground floor creating a simple open porch on its east side. The windows are casements with square leaded lights, some of which include mullions and transoms, with the ground floor windows being taller.
On the west side, there is a single-storey wing known as Vicarage Cottage. The eastern gable is adorned with tile hanging and has a casement attic window, followed by a prominent two-storeyed segmental bay window framed in stone. The rear elevation is of equal quality to the front. The roof is covered with red tiles, and there are diagonal grouped chimneys set on rectangular bases. The walls are made of red brick in English bond, and there is a forecourt wall with piers.
