Description
Ashmead House is a late 17th-century house with an 18th-century front and 20th-century extensions to the rear. It is timber framed, with whitewashed brick cladding across the front and rendered infill to the exposed gable frame. The roof is tiled. The house has two storeys and an attic, with a central flat-roofed dormer. It features a plinth, brick dentil eaves cornice, and end ridge stacks with oversailing tops. The front elevation is regular, with two 19th-century glazing bar sash windows on each floor. A ribbed door is centrally positioned on the ground floor. A pentice roof extension projects from the eaves at the right end. A single-storey wing extends at right angles from the rear. Internally, framed partition walling and ceiling timbers are visible.
