Description
Hartshorn is a former inn that has been converted into a house, dating from the late 17th century. There is a plaque on the front that notes its restoration in 1904. The building is constructed of brown brick, with some coursed heathstone at the center of the ground floor and on the right-hand side. It features a plain tiled roof that is half hipped on the left side.
The structure is two storeys tall, with a brick plat band above the tall ground floor, boxed eaves, and an end stack on the left. There is a buttress on the front right. The windows are arranged irregularly, with five diamond-pane leaded casement windows beneath the eaves on the first floor, set on tiled cills that cut into the plat band. The ground floor has five windows, some of which are topped with cambered heads, and there is a taller two-light window to the right of center, which is situated under a gabled hood supported by brackets. To the left, there is a part-glazed door beneath a shallow gabled hood on brackets, which is accessed by a flight of three steps. At the rear, there is an outshot.
