Description

This is an early 17th-century cottage located on Ash Street. It is timber-framed with brick infill, and incorporates some flint diapering and patterning on the left-hand side. The roof is covered in plain tiles. The cottage has two storeys and originally three framed bays, with a rear ridge stack positioned centrally. It features irregular casement windows - three on the first floor and two below, with one window at each end. A late 19th-century timber-framed porch with a half-glazed door sits centrally, built on a brick dado walling. The porch is topped with a gabled hood supported by braced timber posts. The roof is a baluster crown-post design. A pentice roof garage extension is attached to the right end of the building.
