Description
Botley House is a house dating from the 16th century that has been significantly restored and extended in the late 19th century. It features a timber frame with whitewashed brick and render infill, and has fishscale tile hanging above. The roof is hipped with plain tiles, and there are end stacks along with a large star-shaped ridge stack from the late 19th century. The house is designed with a lobby entrance plan and has two storeys. The first floor includes four diamond pane leaded windows, while the ground floor has three 3-light casements, one 2-light casement, and a 5-light mullioned window on the left side. The entrance is a central plank door located under a tile-hung gable porch. There are catslide extensions at both ends and a late 19th-century tile-hung wing that jetties over the stone ground floor at the rear.
