Description

Walkingstead is a house dating from the 17th century, which was extended and reclad in the 19th century and re-roofed in the 20th century. It is timber-framed and has applied timber framing made of thin scantling with rendered infill. The house has a hipped slate roof with a stack located to the left of the centre. It is two storeys high with three framed bays and three casement windows on the first floor. There are diagonally boarded doors to the ends, sheltered by slate pentice roof porches, the right-hand porch supported by wooden posts. The interior reveals timber framing primarily on the ceilings. The building is included on the list only for its group value.
