Description
The Pest House is a 17th-century house that was restored in the 20th century. It is timber framed, standing on a stone plinth, with rendered infill below and tile hanging above, topped with a plain tiled roof. The building features a large offset stone and brick chimney stack at the right end with a moulded top. It has two storeys and three leaded casement windows across the first floor. The central entrance is a 20th-century stable door set within a 20th-century timber framed, gabled porch that has wooden supports and leaded glazing on the sides. To the left end, there is a hip-roofed extension that is set back. Inside, the house has been heavily restored, showcasing ceiling framing and a deep brick fireplace. It was formerly used as the village pest house.
