Description
Goodrest is a house dating from the 17th century, with extensions added in the 19th century and some alterations made in the late 20th century. The building features a timber frame with rendered infill set on a rendered plinth, topped with a slate roof. It consists of two framed bays aligned east to west, with an extension to the west. A chimney stack is located in the north-west corner, featuring a square-plan brick shaft. The house has two storeys and includes three 2-light casement windows from the 20th century. On the ground floor, there is a pair of 2-light casements to the left and a single 2-light casement to the right of the centre. The entrance is situated in the right-hand corner and features a rustic gabled porch with a slate roof, added in the 20th century. To the left, there is a single-storey extension from the 19th century. The framing of the house consists of four square panels high with straight angle braces. The right-hand gable truss includes two struts to the collar and trenched purlins.
