Description

Woofferton Grange is a farmhouse dating from the early 18th century, which was extended in the early 19th century and has undergone some alterations in the mid-20th century. The building is constructed of brick with a tile roof and features stuccoed brick with a hipped slate roof. The original 18th-century section is located to the south, with a parallel 19th-century addition to the north.

The south front, facing the road, is two storeys high and has external gable-end stacks with brick coped verges that form a band at the first floor level. An attic is lit by a 20th-century flat-roofed dormer on the left side. This facade includes three windows, which are glazing bar sashes with exposed boxes and stone sills beneath rubbed brick heads. On the ground floor, there are two tripartite sashes under cambered brick heads. The central entrance features a pedimented wooden doorcase with Doric pilasters, panelled reveals, and a six-panel door with the upper two panels glazed. To the right of the entrance, there is a small fixed casement window.

The north front is also two storeys tall and has three glazing bar sashes. The ground floor features two larger sashes and a central entrance. This entrance is highlighted by a pedimented stone porch supported by a pair of Ionic columns between Doric antae. The entrance itself has a wide, radially glazed semi-elliptical fanlight above a six-panel door.
