Description
The Old Cottage is a cottage with an attached shop, dating from the 16th century at the rear, with a 20th-century front. It features a timber frame with brick infill, and the right-hand return front is whitewashed. The roof is plain tiled, half hipped to the right with a gablet. There is a large stack at the rear right and an oversailing gable at the center. The building has two storeys, with a moulded fascia board over the ground floor on the right and a jettied first floor on the left. The first floor has five leaded casement windows. There is a panelled and part glazed door located to the center right, accessed by four steps, and a further studded door to the left of center. The left end features a glazed shop front with a central ribbed door. Inside, some framing is visible on the partition walls and ceiling frames.
