Description

The Redfern and Limpsfield Bookshop is a house with a shop extension, dating from the late 18th century to the left and the mid-19th century to the right. The left-hand section has a rendered plinth, while the right-hand section is red brick with blue brick headers. The roof is slate, with a ridge stack at the right end. The building has two storeys. Four sash windows with glazing bars are set beneath gauged heads on the first floor. Two sash windows with glazing bars are set beneath gauged heads to the left, flanking a 20th-century window with a divided light. The right-hand section has a plate glass shopfront. A planked door, with a transome light above, is located to the right of the centre. A half-glazed door is at the right end. A planked door is at the left-hand return front, set under an open gable hood porch. The building is included on the list for group value only.
