Description

This is an early 19th-century house, now a bookshop, located on Steep Hill, Lincoln. The building is constructed of whitewashed brick, with a hipped roof covered in concrete tiles and a side wall stack. It has dentilled eaves and wooden gutters. The house is four storeys high and only two bays wide. On the left-hand side is a late 19th-century wooden shopfront featuring pilasters and a bracketed fascia. The shopfront has recessed glazed double doors, dating to the 20th century, and is flanked to the right by a shop window with glazing bars. To the right of the shopfront is a wooden doorcase, now containing a window. Above the shopfront, there are two plain sash windows on each floor, with segmental heads. The windows of the fourth floor are smaller. The interior of the building has not been inspected. The building has group value.
