Description
Nursery Cottage is a house dating from the 16th century, which was extended to the right and rear in the 18th century and restored in the 20th century. The building features a timber frame that is exposed with brick infill at the front, along with red and brown brick extensions. It has plain tiled roofs, with a weatherboard gable on the right and hipped lower roofs over the extensions.
The house is two storeys high, with a front stack located to the right of the centre. It consists of three framed bays with irregular window arrangements. On the first floor, there are three 20th-century casement windows positioned across the centre and left. The ground floor has two windows, one at each end, and a 20th-century door in the centre, flanked by a leaded window to the left, all set within an open gabled weatherboard porch supported by wooden posts on a brick dado wall.
On the right-hand return front, there is one window at each floor level, along with an additional window in the extension on both floors. The rear of the cottage is also two storeys high, featuring a plat band over the ground floor and two windows across.
