Description

Birch Hall is a house dating to circa 1740, with substantial 20th-century extensions to the rear right side. The original fabric is red and brown brick, with a rendered dado and plinth, and stone rusticated quoins to the ends. It features a plain tiled roof, with end stacks rising from raised gable ends. A plat band runs across the ground floor, and a parapet partly obscures the roofline. The front elevation has four twelve-pane sash windows with renewed glazing bars, set under cambered heads on the first floor. A central panelled door is framed by pilasters and topped with an open pediment and a leaded fanlight. The rear extension is taller and rendered, with hipped plain tiled roofs. On the rear elevation, it has four windows and a ridge stack.
