Description

Lee Lane Farmhouse is a house dating back to the 16th century, with extensions added in the early 19th century. It is timber framed and has colourwashed render cladding with incised detailing, while the rear is in rendered brick. The roof is slate-covered. The house is set at an angle to the road, with extensions to the rear right. It has two storeys and an attic in the gabled ends. There is a plinth below a plat band over the ground floor; a buttress is present at the right end, and there are stacks to the front left and rear ridge, slightly left of centre. The windows are irregularly placed: four casement windows on the first floor, and three on the ground floor, including a metal casement window to the right, beneath a cambered head. A panelled door is located to the left of centre, set within a gabled rendered porch with an arched entrance giving access up three steps. The return front, facing the street, has two gables, with the right-hand gable projecting. A pentice roof covers a square bay window on the ground floor to the left. There is an angle bay on the ground floor to the right and a half-glazed door in the centre, positioned at the junction of the two gables. The house was noted as near derelict at the time of a recent survey.
