Description

Cedar House is a house built in 1934 by Sir Edwin Lutyens. It features a timber frame with cedar board cladding and a steeply pitched cedar shingled roof, which has overlapping shingle decoration along the ridge. The building has a four-shaped plan with symmetrical fronts, including a central gable bay that has one storey and an attic, flanked by one storey on either side. There are beehive-shaped boarded chimneys on the ridge, with a double stack to the right of centre and a single stack to the left. The house has three bays, with a gabled centre that features zig-zag bargeboards. The windows are casement style, with one in the gable and one on either side. A central glazed door is set in a recessed porch.
