Description

No. 57 Cheapside is a house dating from the 16th century. It is timber framed, standing on a rendered plinth, with brick infill and a plain tiled roof that is half hipped at the right end. The house has two storeys and features three framed bays with irregularly placed casement windows. There is a board door located to the left of centre, leading to a lobby entrance. At the rear, there is a catslide extension with exposed bracing on the left-hand return front. Inside, much of the timber frame is visible, and there is a deep brick fireplace.
