Description

The ice house at Sandgates is a 19th-century or earlier brick structure, featuring a domed shape that stands approximately 25 feet high and has a diameter of 20 feet. It includes a rectangular access point in the crown and a cambered arch supported by buttresses. This ice house is built into the side of an escarpment within a former landscaped garden that was part of the grounds of the now-demolished Sandgates convent.
