Description
Pyrcroft House is a mid-18th century building located on Pyrcroft Road in Chertsey. It is two stories high and features a tile roof with two gable ends and two brick chimneys. The front is constructed of brick, showcasing gauged flat arches above the five windows. The corners of the building are accentuated by flat brick pilasters, and there is a moulded brick cornice topped with a parapet. Carved stone vases adorn the corners, and there is a band at the first floor level. The central first floor window is arched, complete with a stone keystone and impost blocks, and has radial bars at the top. The other windows are sash style with 12 panes each. The house also features an early 19th century doorcase and contains well-preserved panelled rooms. It is likely that the house predates its current façade, as noted in Navin and Pevsner's Surrey.
