Description

The ice house at Paxton House, which may date back to the 18th century, is constructed from squared pink sandstone rubble and is located beneath a bridge arch. It features a square-headed passage that leads to a semi-subterranean, oval-shaped chamber. The inner lining of the chamber is made of coursed sandstone. Modern railings separate the passage from the chamber.
