North Lodge, Paxton House

West Lodge at Paxton House is likely from the early 19th century, with later additions and alterations. It consists of two single-storey lodges located to the north of the main entrance to Paxton House. The West Lodge has a rectangular plan with a single bay and features a mono-pitched store that is recessed to the side. The North Lodge was originally similar but has a two-bay addition on the side and a piended wing at the rear, forming an L-shape. The buildings are primarily constructed of coursed and tooled pink sandstone, with some parts made of rubble, and the North Lodge has rendered additions.

The entrance elevation of the North Lodge features the original block with a modern, part-glazed timber door positioned to the left of centre, a blocked fanlight above, and a single window to the outer right. The two-bay addition on the left includes a small window to the right and a single window to the outer left. The south side elevation of the North Lodge has a single window at the centre, while the piended wing has a slightly recessed bipartite window to the right. The rear elevation shows a piended projection to the outer left, with the principal block recessed to the right. The windows are timber sash and case with 4- and 12-pane glazing, including some modern glazing and rooflights. There are brick-built ridge stacks and a circular can.

The entrance elevation of the West Lodge features a modern, part-glazed timber door offset to the right of centre, a blocked fanlight, and a single window to the right. There is a two-bay mono-pitched store that is recessed to the outer right. The south side elevation has a single window at the centre, while the rear elevation has a single window offset to the right of centre. The north side elevation includes a single window at the centre and a mono-pitched store projecting to the outer right. The windows are similar to those of the North Lodge, with 4- and 12-pane glazing in timber sash and case, and a modern window at the front. The roof is covered with grey slate and features a brick-built ridge stack offset to the right of centre, along with a circular can.

The boundary walls, railings, and piers consist of low coped sandstone walls that enclose the corner sites, topped with spearheaded iron railings and spearheaded pedestrian gates. The outer ends have coped, square-plan, coursed pink sandstone piers, and there is a wall-mounted post box in the pier to the south of the West Lodge.
