Description

The icehouse at Broomhall dates back to the 18th century and is built into an earthen bank. It features a Gothic-arched entrance leading to a tunnel that opens into a vaulted underground chamber lined with brick. The structure is made of rough sandstone and has a metal pointed arch door. There is also a small area recessed into the rock face, which has a segmental arch with undressed voussoirs.
